During the summer of 2006, some big changes were made to the bottom bowl seating arrangement in Gallagher-Iba Arena. New bleachers were constructed in the student and donor sections, as well as the removal of press row from courtside.

Completed during the 2000-01 season, the "Raise the Roof" renovations of Gallagher-Iba Arena encapsulated the old arena inside of the new OSU Athletics Center. The Athletic Center features an academic counseling center, training facilities for all sports, a new strength and conditioning center, expanded offices, a recruiting lounge, an auxiliary gym, new wrestling facilities and the Heritage Hall museum. Seating in Gallagher-Iba Arena was expanded from 6,381 to 13,611, making it the largest sports arena in the state of Oklahoma.

"The Madison Square Garden of the Plains" has proudly shown as the crown jewel of Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma State Athletics since its dedication in 1938. Home to both a historically elite basketball program and the premiere collegiate wrestling program in America, Gallagher-Iba has seen as much history in its hallowed halls as any other college venue in the country. A massive renovation more than doubled its capacity, but did not diminish its intimate - yet intimidating - setting for basketball games and wrestling duels.
